Domain Parking Tip: Make More Money At Parked.com

January 3, 2008

Parking Tips - Just how much money you make with various domain parking companies like parked.com, sedo.com, namedrive.com and trafficz.com often depends on how well your domain names are optimized. That being said it certainly “pays to optimize”, however it can take hours and hours to optimize a large portfolio.

Here are some tips that have helped me improve my earnings at parked.com.

- Make use of the “portfolio system”, group domains by keyword.
- Optimize portfolios for higher click through rates.
- Create a folder or “portfolio” for your higher traffic domain names.
- Keep an eye out for domains in your traffic portfolio that are getting visitors but no clicks.
- Optimize these domains with better templates that fit your domain names.
- Test various keywords, use Googles Adwords Keyword Tool to get an idea of bid volume and bid prices for various keywords.

What methods have you used to increase your earnings at parked.com?

To your success,
Brian J

    Hi Brian,
Great tip- matching the template to what the expired domain traffic would recognize and be attracted to. It sounds like parked.com has a good system. I’ve tried some other parking system and they were either clumsy to use and get around or slow and I was spending too much time trying to get it optimized - then the page they put up was very bland - just a listing of ads, no images.
This seems pretty exciting - a good way to park domains until you have time to evaluate or develop. Thanks again.

Right on Brian. I Googled parked sites and thats how I found this site. I took your advice and started using parked.com about 15 days ago. The daily income seems to be ramping up as I have been slowly optimizing each template. Their templates are really slick with quality photo stock. The ones with the most traffic I am building sites for. An example of a slick looking parked domain of mine I just bought is http://www.302boss.com Stats are 31 visitors 7 clicks and $1.40 income in 2 days for starters.

    Nice tip Brian,

I have been doing this for almost a year now, and like you said it’s not, night and day. But it sure helps…

    Keep up the good work!

    Hi Brian,
Thanks for your recommendation. A big thumbs up for parked.com. I tried another parking company and found it was so time comsuming I figured why bother - develop the site yourself if you are going to put in this much work - but parked.com is quick and easy.

They give you four alternative methods for getting your domains parked with them. The first being changing the dns server. Which one do you use? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each. I understand that some offer more flexability- you can receive email for that domain, etc. Some are easier. I also noticed that some of the methods keep your url in the browser windom and some do not. The parked.com site mentioned that there were some advantages of this method as far as branding but also mentioned there were some disadvantages but didn’t specify. What are the disadvantages? What are your recommendations?

    All the best,

    Hey Ted,

I always use dns - some domainers like to redirect. Doing this allows you to see where your visitors are coming from via stats control panel. Of course doing this requires you to “add” the domain to a web host. I prefer dns - simple fast and easy.

    Brian,
I thot the keyword search would only take the first word and not use the remainder of keywords we would input.

Is it best to have 1 keyword to maximize results or zero in ???

    Thanks Ed - Michigan

I have a question that I can’t seem to find an answer for. Something makes me feel like I’m doing something wrong. I advertise on adwords for traffic to my parked domains for a few days now. Is that wrong? Can anyone enlighten me on the whole scope of that practice? Short term vs. long term effects. I mean so long as I’m make more then I’m spending right?

Great video…I have my domains parked with active audience. Do you think parked is better?

Got something to say?
