Cyber Monday - Still Plenty Of Opportunity For Domainers
November 26, 2007
“All the good domain names are taken, their is just not as much opportunity for domainers as their once was”.
This is a phrase I hear, read or come across one way or another quite often. However it is a matter of opinion that I am just not willing to share, of course their was a time years ago when millionaires were made. People like Rick Schwartz who had a vision back in the 90’s and were able to pick up domain names like Candy.com and Property.com, those days are long gone.
However other big names in the industry came in when others were mumbling “it’s just a few years too late for me”.
Example: Frank Schilling
Frank did not get into domaining until around 2002 or so (Frank if you manage to stumble here please feel free to correct me if I am wrong on that date) of course Rick already picked up all those darn good one word generic .com domains. So Frank had to establish his own domain formula (two and three word .com domain names) in order to realize the type of income he was after. Several years later Frank owns thousands and thousands of these two phrase domain names and is quite comfortable living the dream so to speak.
Every now and then I run into one of Franks domains, just weeks ago it was for the search: Sexy Halloween Costumes
Frank enjoyed the number one slot on a search engine for a variation of this term, I had number two
and made some great money with about 90 minutes of work. I also launched about 5 other costume sites and made about $500 to $750 selling costumes via buycostumes.com affiliate program. I spent a few hours working on these sites so my hourly rate was well over $100. What is even more exciting is that these sites are not parked (look for future posts – beyond parking – about why you might not want to park all your domain names) and will probably do even better next Halloween.
So What Is Your Formula?
How are you going to create your web empire?
- Expired names, with current “seo juice” …
- High value .com domains that you hold for years and sell for millions?
- New trends, terms and opportunity (CyberMonday.com was just picked up several years ago and will enjoy thousands and thousands of visitors today.
Please post your comments or thoughts, what is your CyberMonday.com??

Happy cyberMonday to you too Brian!
Hi Brian,
Another great video. I wish I had thought to buy Cybermonday.com what a money maker that will be.
Good luck,
Gil
Brian, Brian, Brian,
I just love your video’s!! so energetic and enthusiastic. I find my self looking
forward to logging on to your site every day now. I was kinda down about my
ppc today then logged on your site, and I feel better, thank you.
You are an inspiration to domainers new and old. Keep up the good work!!
I can’t wait till tomorrow.
see ya
Ron
Great podcast videos!
I share your same enthusiasm for domaining with tech trends and things that I plan on building services for. Domains to me seem almost like buying stock in myself since I build things out of thin air by writing code and as a perk I get all the insider trading tips I could ever want on the company.
I hope you keep up the great videos. I think you could easily become a powerful authority on domaining and beginner SEOing. You have a good charismatic quality that I think people can easily relate to.
P.S.
You should set up a forum I think you could build a valuable resource over time with it.
Hey Guys,
I just wanted to take the time to say thank you for the nice comments - I spend a lot of time on the site with original content and videos. I really enjoy Internet marketing with a bit of domaining added, it is nice to know lots of people are enjoying my ideas, tips and what not.
Damian
I plan on adding plenty more content over the next few months - a forum is an interesting idea. However I feel right now I have a plate full with plans for two new sites which will be similar to Domain Parking Money.
One of the sites will focus on taking advantage of web 2.0, video, rss … and of course social media sites. Watch for an announcement soon.
Ron
I am so glad your enjoying the video’s! I also really love them, I feel as if I can get more ideas across and can more easily conect with visitors to the site.
Gil
I am sure many people wished they owned CyberMonday.com!
take care all,
Brian
I really like your information. One of the disadvantage is that ebay is not accepting international affiliates. I use auctionads now. It was good, but conversion rate is dropping.
Anyway. Could you also send me a sedopro code.
Let me know
Keep up the excellent writing
Cheers
Orca
